Oh Divine Sai! You are my Physician and Philosopher.
Sri Sainathayanamah!
Dr. M. Vijayakumar writes:
“Our relative, Dr. K. V. Sai, had been practicing medicine in London for fourteen years. One day in 1983, we received a distressing phone call saying that he had suddenly collapsed unconscious and had been rushed to a major hospital. Our hearts trembled with fear, and we prayed fervently to Sai Baba with deep anguish and surrender.
In the early hours of the next morning, I had a vivid dream. I saw Sai Baba Himself inside the operation theatre, performing surgery on our relative. Baba gently opened His clenched fist. From it emerged a black cobra, which entered my relative’s skull and pulled out a dark, malignant mass, casting it away. Baba then spoke with divine assurance,
‘There is no need to fear anymore. I have done what was necessary.’
On the fourth day, we received the news from the doctors, a large tumor had been successfully removed from the patient’s head.” Ref:Srisaileelamrutamu.
A physician knows the pulse of each patient and therefore prescribes different medicines according to each one’s condition.
If the patient follows the doctor’s advice, it is only for his own well-being, isn’t it?
In the same way, a Sadguru knows, with perfect clarity, what is good and what is not good for each of His devotees.
Some need health, some need peace of mind, some need money, some need education or employment, and some others need spiritual upliftment.
Not everyone has the same need, nor does the same remedy help everyone.
Sri Sai, the all-knowing Sadguru, knows exactly what each devotee requires and how much they should receive.
Sometimes the desires we pray for may benefit us… or they may even harm us.
Baba blessed His devotees in different ways—
He gave Das Ganu the gift of kirtan service,
Bhagoji Shinde the sacred privilege of serving His Feet,
Shyama, Tatya, and others received what they needed from Him.
He made some devotees wealthy beyond measure.
Yet, the great Mahalsapati, who lived in poverty, was never given worldly riches.
He even made Hamsaraj decline the financial help he wanted to offer Mahalsapati.
But spiritually, Baba lifted Mahalsapati to the highest peaks.
As long as Sai devotees remember Baba, they can never forget the name of Mahalsapati—the one who performed Baba’s Sai Namakaran.
Therefore, Sai devotees should not seek only material wealth.
Whatever Baba grants must be accepted with gratitude.
Being content with His blessings is truly for our own good.
🌼 Salutations to Sai the Divine Physician! 🌼
Who dwells in every beating heart…

We are but pieces on the stage of this worldly play;
Our pulse is known only to You.
O Divine Physician, O Sai, we bow to You!
Sai Vaidya—we offer our salutations!
O protector of devotees, priceless wish-fulfilling jewel!
You freed Bhagoji from his bodily suffering.
You, the knower of secrets and of unspoken words,
You soothed the pain of Mother Mainatai.
In every heart You reside…
You gave Choalkar sweet sugar as prasadam,
To Tatya You were like a loving uncle.
To Shyama, You were the dearest divine companion,
To Megha, O Sai, You were Shiva Himself!
In every heart You reside…
To Das Ganu You became heavenly music itself,
To Booty, You gifted a treasure worth crores.
To Dabholkar, You were the voice in his heart,
To Patankar, You granted the nine-fold path of devotion.
In every heart You reside…
With mere water You lit lamps effortlessly.
Your divine plays cannot be fully spoken of.
You kept Mahalsapati in utter simplicity,
Yet filled his torn cloth with the fruit of highest wisdom.
In every heart You reside…
We ignorant children cannot understand Your ways.
We are but clay dolls dancing in the drama of Maya.
We surrender, we surrender—
O Sai, we offer our lives at Your feet.
Draw us close, hold us near,
This life is Yours, completely and forever.
In every heart You reside…
